Germany loses on Friday evening in Hamburg against the Netherlands and as a reward Section Indonesia and me visited the winner the next day. The goal was Almelo, 2005 my first visit of the Netherlands at the “big” Heracles, this time the first visit for her at the “little” Heracles.

On the way back from Belgium this year we failed gloriously, because they played on the second pitch and that despite confirmation via Facebook.

The AVC office sent us an e-mail with the information that the match will be played in the stadium today. There they thought I was mistaken and I would like to visit the professional club Heracles. I had to assure again that I am really interested in the small amateur club and its beautiful stadium.

Today we arrived early and confirmed again on the spot that there will be a match in the stadium. Then there was still enough time to visit an indonesian Imbiss where we could still be served. Officially here you are not allowed to sit and eat, but only to pick up but if you already have compatriots as guests, this is also made possible. Just like last time, when we went there instead of football.

Then we went back to the stadium. Entrance did not have to be paid and so we made ourselves comfortable on the monumental wooden grandstand from 1924. What a world class tribune! It is supposed to be based on English grandstands. The grandstand is now a listed monument and has the status of a “Rijksmonument”. It looks very well maintained and is one of the oldest stadiums in Holland.

In addition, the grandstand has a licence as a wedding location. In case someone wants to get married there. But this is out of the question for the average Groundhopper, because they aren’t interested in women. What a stadium gives them, no woman can give them! ;)

The number of spectators was difficult to determine, because there were more games running parallel and players and spectators came and went again and again and because the clubhouse and the cabins are at the main pitch and there was always movement. About 100 spectators who mainly saw this game will have been there.

After 90 minutes an 5 goals Section Indonesia achieves the country point Netherlands and we went on to our overnight stay. The next morning we visited Menkemaborg before another game on the way back. In the northeast of the Netherlands you can admire this beautiful property from the 14th century with castle and garden. Pictures can be found as always in the link above.

Deutschland verliert am Freitagabend in Hamburg gegen die Niederlande und zur Belohnung statteten Sektion Indonesien und ich dem Sieger am nächsten Tag einen Besuch ab. Ziel war Almelo, 2005 mein Länderpunkt mit dem “großen” Heracles, dieses Mal der Länderpunkt für sie beim “kleinen” Heracles.

Auf der Rückreise aus Belgien dieses Jahr sind wir daran glorreich gescheitert, da auf dem Nebenplatz gespielt wurde und das trotz Zusage per Facebook.

Per E-Mail gab es aus der Geschäftsstelle des AVC für heute die Info das im Stadion gespielt wird. Dort dachte man erst ich verwechsle da etwas und ich möchte den Proficlub Heracles besuchen. Ich musste nochmals versichern, dass ich tatsächlich an dem kleinen Amateurclub und seinem wunderschönen Stadion interessiert bin.

Heute dann frühzeitige Anreise und nochmalige Bestätigung vor Ort, dass im Stadion gespielt wird. Dann war noch genug Zeit erneut einen indonesischen Imbiss aufzusuchen in dem man uns noch kannnte. Hier darf man offiziell nicht sitzen und essen, sondern nur abholen aber wenn man schon mal Landsleute zu Gast hat, wird auch das möglich gemacht. Genau wie beim letzten Mal, als wir statt Fußball eben dort eingekehrt sind.

Danach ging es wieder zum Stadion. Eintritt musste nicht bezahlt werden und so machten wir es uns auf der monumentalen Holztribüne von 1924 gemütlich. Was für ein weltklasse Teil! Sie soll wohl englischen Tribünen nachempfunden sein. Die Tribüne ist mittlerweile Denkmalgeschützt bzw. hat den Status “Rijksmonument”. Sie wirkt sehr gepflegt und ist eines der ältesten Stadien in Holland.

Außerdem hat die Tribüne eine Zulassung als Hochzeitslocation. Falls jemand dort heiraten möchte. Kommt für den durchschnittlichen Groundhopper aber nicht in Frage, da dieser mit Frauen nichts anfangen kann. Denn was ihm ein Stadion gibt, kann ihm keine Frau geben! ;)

Die Zuschauerzahl war schwer zu ermitteln, da parallel weitere Spiele liefen und immer wieder Spieler und Zuschauer kamen und gingen und weil das Vereinsheim und die Kabinen am Hauptplatz sind und dort immer Bewegung war. Um die 100 Zuschauer die hautpsächlich dieses Spiel sahen werden es aber gewesen sein.

Sektion Indonesien fährt nach 90 torreichen Minuten den Länderpunkt ein und weiter ging es zu unserer Übernachtung. Am nächsten Morgen stand vor einem weiteren Spiel auf der Rückfahrt noch der Besuch der Menkemaborg an. Ganz im Nordosten der Niederlande gibt es dieses schöne Anwesen aus dem 14. Jahrhundert mit Schloss und Gartenanlage zu bewundern. Bilder gibt es wie immer oben im Link.
