Report:
We arrived a few minutes after the beginning of the match at the Cardiff Arms Park. You can find the rugby stadium right next to the Millenium Stadium.
Today the Blues played against Leinster a provincial rugby team located in Dublin, Ireland. For the first time sportandtravel.de was visiting a rugby match and it was a really nice experience!
Still the weather was very unpleasant and influenced the course of the game in a negative way. The rugby ball changed its direction when it was kicked high in the air and sometimes even came back.
Very impressive are the lineouts when the ball gets back into the game and both teams each lift up a player that trys to get the ball. The tackles and the scrum are very imposing too of course. The audience was reacting to the action on the field, so it was a quite good atmosphere in the Stadium. Really an interesting sport and for me much more interesting then American Football.
At the end a narrow victory for Leinster rugby who also brought some away fans to Cardiff.
After the match the sport programm was ticked off for the weekend.
On sunday was enough time to visit the beautiful Cardiff Castle directly in the city center. Great precincts with its medieval castle and Victorian Gothic revival mansion with its beauteous rooms as well as the pretty clock tower. Highly Recommended!
Then it was time to say good bye to my cousins son. He took the train back to Swansea and i went to the airport and flew via Amsterdam back to Hamburg.
It was a wonderful weekend in Cardiff!
