We started the day with a delayed breakfast in the pretty Cardiff Central Market with a typical full breakfast combined with Welsh Cakes.

After that we went to the Cardiff City Stadium by foot. Not a good idea beacause it was extremely windy and rainy again, but no pain no gain!

There we took our tickets and went immediately into the stadium.

On the pitch it was suprisingly an easy match for the Bluebirds who let the Seagulls no chance. Both teams had to deal with the heavy rain and the strong wind. No good conditions for a football match, still the game was nice to look at. After the first half the match was as good as over for Brighton, because it was already 3:0. In the second half Brighton could shot one goal but only a few minutes later Cardiff scored again. A clear win at the end for Cardiff City FC.

Good support on both sides, with the Cardiff Supporters behind one goal and a few hundred Brighton & Hove Fans in one corner. I did not expect that many guest supporters. Some typical chants from both fan groups, sometimes England-Wales rivalry songs to provoke the other side. Unfortunately only 2 flags were shown by the guest supporter, the home fans entirely without flags. Really a pity as teams from the UK always have a lot of beatiful flags and sometimes it seems you only see them when the national team is playing.

The Cardiff City Stadium has 3 Tribunes that have the same height and a new built opposite stand (that could be the main stand) with big lettering “Cardiff” that gives the Stadium a character. The Stadiwm Dinas Caerdydd can host 26.828O spectators and was opened in July 2009 with a friendly match against Celtic FC. It is the second largest sports stadium in Wales after the Millennium Stadium which is located in Cardiff too. For me it is one of the more beautiful new built stadiums in the UK and defenitely worth a visit!

After the match we had to hurry up because we wanted to go back to the city center, this time one station by train, to see the Rugby match of the Cardiff Blues.
